
Keeping Your Class 100 Cleanroom Actually Clean
If you’re running a Class 100 cleanroom, you already know the nightmare of particulate shedding. One tiny flake of dust from a heating element and your whole batch is trashed. Standard coils and open-wire elements are a gamble. They cycle through heat and cold, and as they do, they drop oxides and dust. It’s a mess you can’t afford. That’s why we do things differently. We use high-purity quartz infrared lamps and pair them with gold-coated reflectors. Why gold? It comes down to how the heat moves. Gold is a beast when it comes to reflecting infrared radiation. Better yet, it doesn’t oxidize. Unlike aluminum, which can flake off and send metallic dust drifting right into your production line, gold stays put. It pushes the IR energy forward, hitting your target hard while keeping the lamp housing from getting soaked in unnecessary heat. The build quality The lamps themselves are made from synthetic quartz. It’s tough stuff. It handles those brutal thermal shocks without cracking. Since the heating element is completely sealed inside that quartz envelope, nothing escapes. No particles, no dust. Just a closed system that does its job. One heads-up, though: gold is soft. Much softer than aluminum. If your team is a bit rough during installation, they’ll scratch it. A gouge in the surface doesn’t just kill your reflectivity—it creates a spot where contamination can start. Handle them with care. Getting them into your line These are designed to be simple drop-in replacements for your curing or drying stages. Hook them up to a PID controller, and your temperatures will stay locked in. And because there’s no combustion or open flame, you can stop worrying about soot or weird chemical smells off-gassing into your space. If you’re packing a lot of wattage into a small area, just keep an eye on your airflow. The IR beam is focused, but the back of the lamp still gets warm. Make sure your fans are moving that air out of the room so you don’t end up with heat pockets.
